XinSai Esports announces the return of XSE Challenger League

XinSai Esports has announced the return of XSE Challeneger League (XCL), announcing Season 2-7. XCL is a tier-2 league that will be hosted in APAC region for Chinese, Mongolian, and Australian teams. Interestingly, there are no slots for the Rest of Asia teams.

Each XCL season will boast a prize pool of $2000, and will take place in the Shanghai Star Ring Center Theatre. You can register for the event by going to the 5EPLAY platform and searching for XCL. XCL season 2, 3, and 5 will have open qualifiers and will follow the below mentioned format:

For XCL Season 2, 3, and 5, the tournament will consist of three stages:

• Open Qualifier

• Closed Qualifier

• Playoffs

Open Qualifier: It will be held online, and will allow teams with a majority of three from Australia, China, and Mongolia in their respective Qualifiers. There will be three qualifiers held, one for China, one for Australia and one for Mongolia, accommodating 512 teams each. The Chinese Qualifier will send two teams into the Closed Qualifier, while the Mongolian and Australian Qualifier will send three teams each. The qualifiers will follow single-elimination format and will feature Bo1s and Qualifying Bo3s with third place decider for the latter.

Closed Qualifier: The Closed Qualifier will be a LAN event accomodating 8 teams and will send the top four teams into the playoffs. It will follow a Double-Elimination format featuring Bo3s.

Playoffs: The Playoffs will also be a LAN event, and will host third place deciders.

XCL Season 4, 6, and 7 will issue VRS invites to teams ranked lower than 12 and thus will not feature Open Qualifiers. In these tournaments, 2 teams from China, 3 teams from Mongolia, and 3 teams from Australia will be directly invited to Closed Qualifiers.
