Valve's latest CS2 patch breaks B-hopping with loosened mechanics

Latest CS2 update has made Bunny hopping easier

In CS2's latest update that released today morning, Valve has introduced several bug fixes to the game, including changes made to the B-hop mechanism and grenades.

The changes related to Grenades have mostly focused on correcting the sounds of Incendiary and smoke grenades, while also focusing on fixing fire particle and its event timing. The audio and visual effects are now better synced with the actual throw and detonation.

Valve has also introduced changes to B-hop, which were intended to fix the mechanism, but as has been the nature of most of these recent updates, has spiralled out of control. Many players have posted clips of Phoon-esque B-hopping across the map.

In an article published by PcGuide, it was revealed that these changes made to B-hop have been unintentional, and will probably be fixed soon.

Patch Notes - August 2, 2025
