s1mple barely holds up in tier-3 debut
At Exort The Proving Grounds Season 3, s1mple played his first official for BC.Game against CYBERSHOKE, a tier-3 team ranked just out of the Global top 50. While s1mple was on the all-time-great debate towards the end of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, his transition to Counter-Strike 2 has been anything but graceful. Constantly complaining about the state of the game, refusing to provide feedback to developers and even taking a step back from the competitive space, s1mple's only CS2 outings have been with Falcons and FaZe, both on loan.
His GOAT status netted s1mple a Major appearance at Austin with FaZe (on loan) but the latter quickly reverted to their ex-AWP, broky right after their Major exit. In a shocking move, BC.Game bought s1mple out of NAVI's bench and added him to their tier-3 roster. In his debut yesterday, s1mple started off rough. s1mple's AWP was bested consistently by CYBERSHOKE's FenomeN and Forester on Overpass. Despite BC.Game coming back to push the game into overtime, s1mple was the lowest rated player at the end of the map when BC.Game lost 16-13.
The second map took us to Mirage where s1mple showed glimpses of his former self on the CT-side but still nowhere near his usual form. s1mple was holding down angles, coming ahead in 1v1s, taking the fight to CYBERSHOKE, as BC.Game secured a 7-5 lead on their CT-side. s1mple struggled on the T-side, with a 0.80 rating, going 9-13. The aNdu-s1mple-pr1metapz trio dragged BC.Game to a 19-17 double overtime win on Mirage.
The decider took us to Ancient with pr1metapz and CacaNito firing on all cylinders on the T-side but once again s1mple struggled, dropping a 0.75 rating T-side even though BC.Game took a 7-5 lead. However, the legendary AWPer made up for it on the CT-side, going 7-3 with a 1.41 rating to fetch BC.Game a 13-8 win on Ancient, wrapping the series 2-1. BC.Game needs two more wins to clear the Swiss System bo3 group stage.
