Dust2 India - 1XBET Cup Seeding rule update

Teams qualifying through Qualifier 1 to receive a higher seed

The Dust2 India - 1XBET Cup Masters will now follow a seeding rule allowing teams from Qualifier 1 to receive a higher seed than the teams qualifying from Qualifier 2.

This rule comes into affect for those teams who do not have a Global VRS rank or an HLTV rank that can be used for seeding. The Finals of the respective qualifiers will further help seed the two teams from that particular qualifier.

This rule is enforced to comply with Section 3.4.3 of Valve's Tournament Operation Requirement that states:

3.4.3 Rosters without a Global VRS rank cannot be seeded higher than VRS Ranked Rosters.

The change will also mean that teams will not be able to forfeit the finals of the Open Qualifiers and it will be mandatory for both teams to play the final game in the Open Qualifiers.

If a team forfeits even after making the Open Qualifier final, the first two times, if the team has a VRS rankings, the team will be seeded according to their VRS rank, but from the third forfeit onwards, they will be given ban in the next edition. A team without a VRS rank forfeiting will result in them getting the lowest seed in the Masters edition, that is the 4th seed.

The Dust2 India - 1XBET Cup Masters is a ranked $1500 tournament that features four teams, where two teams qualify from each of its two Open Qualifiers. The registrations for Open Qualifier 50 are open, and you can register by following the link below:
