The MongolZ continue to be a thorn in Vitality's side
Vitality's semi-final curse in the second season of 2025 continued as The MongolZ got the best of the reigning Major champions once again which had the Mongolian team beat apEX and co. in the semi-final of the Esports World Cup 2025.
A strong T start from The MongolZ on their pick of Mirage saw them start 7-1 before Vitality managed to salvage the half to keep The MongolZ's lead to two rounds. With their captain bLitz leading from the front, it was The MongolZ taking Mirage 13-8. bLitz and 910 topped the scoreboard with 22 and 21 kills respectively.
Vitality answered back immediately with a 7-1 start on their pick of Dust2 before a couple of crucial late round clutches with mzinho stepping was The MongolZ manage four CT rounds. With ropz and mezii stepping up, Vitality tied up the series following a 13-9 win to push the series to a third and final map.
Nuke was a blowout as Techno shut down Vitality on their T side with The MongolZ starting with nine straight CT rounds and while Vitality managed to put a couple of rounds together on their CT half, it was too late as The MongolZ held on for a 13-7 win to take the series 2-1.
The MongolZ now await the winner of the second semi-final between Falcons and Aurora while Vitality's run at the Esports World Cup 2025 is not done yet as they will be in action for one final game, which will be the third place decider.
