
The MongolZ send G2 home
The MongolZ kicked off their FISSURE Playground 2 playoffs campaign against G2 in the quarter-final. Starting on the T-side of Mirage, The MongolZ individuals were on their A-game early in their T-side, starting with a mzinho Glock triple kill. Following up with a bLitZ 1v2, The MongolZ were 5-0 in no time. G2 opened their account with a flawless gun round at 5-1 off of SunPayus's AWP triple kill, garnering massive confidence only to bin it in the very next round, as Senzu plucked out the B-defenders one by one to net The MongolZ a 2v5 post-plant conversion.
Down 1-7 on the CT-side, a desperate aggressive mid play worked out in their favor, putting up their second CT-side round. SunPayus stepped up with an M4 quad-kill to give G2 their third and final round on the CT-side as The MongolZ caught G2's defenders off guard on both sides of the map round after round with their site-splits. bLitz and Senzu put up 111-ADR showings on the T-side to give The MongolZ a 9-3 lead at halftime. The MongolZ converted a 2v3 pistol round but malbs brought G2 back in the game with a deagle double opener to steal the anti-eco.
The MongolZ never really settled on the CT-side as hunter led from the front, opening up sites and finally levelling the score at 11-11 off of a Mac10 double opener. Senzu's triple kill stopped G2's B-rush in it's tracks as The MongolZ secured match point at 12-11. G2's B-entry in the last round of regulation fell apart after bLitz sprayed down three to fetch The MongolZ the opening map 13-11. The trio of malbs, HeavyGod and hunter fired on all cylinders to give G2 an 8-0 start on the T-side of Dust2 but Techno and Senzu stepped up late in the half to salvage a 4-8 CT-side for The MongolZ.
The MongolZ convert a 2v5 on Mirage
G2 bounced back just before The MongolZ could tie the score, fending off a chaotic late-round mid to B hit. A clinical quad kill AK spray-down from MATYS followed by a solid A-site hold from hunter and HeavyGod put G2 on match point. The MongolZ tried to stay alive with a fast B play but G2 held on and closed Dust2 13-7, taking the series to the decider, Ancient. hunter emerged ahead in a 1v1 against Senzu in the pistol round as G2 converted the anti-eco and bonus to get off to a 3-0 start on the T-side.
The MongolZ bought up and stomped G2's mid play, to put up their first CT-side round on Ancient. A locked-in hunter continued to create space for G2 on the T-side but 910's AWP found its footing after a rusty start, keeping G2 at bay as The MongolZ stole the lead at 5-3 with 910 going 10-3. G2 scored consecutive gun rounds towards the end but The MongolZ finished on a high with 910 sticking the defuse in a 3v2 against a displaced hunter-malbs duo. Down 5-7, G2 fumbled a man advantage in the pistol round and The MongolZ put up three on the trot, hitting double figures.
MATYS and malbs, showed solid banana protocols to fetch G2 a couple of CT-rounds but The MongolZ toppled a four-man set up on B to inch closer towards the match point. hunter's blind AK 2K went in vain as The MongolZ snatched a 3v4 with a Mac10 and a couple of upgraded pistols, securing match point and immediately closing Ancient 13-9, wrapping the series 2-1 and advancing to the semi-final, sending G2 home.
