The MongolZ reflect back on their journey
Over the last year and a half, The MongolZ have shot up in popularity, cultural impact and Counter-Strike's world rankings. The MongolZ, a team known for their humble beginnings and on-stage composure, made a lot of noise at the Perfect World Shanghai 2024 Major becoming the first ever Asian team to step foot into the playoffs of a Counter-Strike Major. Ever since, the Mongolian five-stack has been toppling record after record, taking Asian Counter-Strike to new heights.
Landing consistent playoffs appearances throughout 2025, The MongolZ nearly hit the holy grail of Counter-Strike, almost getting their hands on a Major title at BLAST.tv Austin 2025. The MongolZ even took a map off of an in-form Vitality in the grand-final. Returning from the Major, The MongolZ added another page to their records book, becoming the first Asian team to take stage at the playoffs of an IEM Cologne event. After finishing second at BLAST Bounty Fall 2025, The MongolZ landed their first S-tier trophy at Esports World Cup 2025.
The MongolZ took down GamerLegion, Vitality, 3DMAX and Aurora in an unforgiving single-elimination bracket at Esports World Cup 2025. They nearly landed back to back S-tier wins but fell just short, taking home a silver medal at FISSURE Playground 2. Coming from a region like Mongolia, the team had its challenges. Esports was frowned upon in its early stages and even brushed off as an addiction, during The MongolZ's initial iterations. Reflecting back on their journey, The MongolZ have released a mini-documentary, sharing their stories, challenges and what it took to become Asia's best and one of the most feared Counter-Strike teams in the world at the moment, alongside the likes of Vitality, Spirit, etc.
