FURIA outlast The MongolZ to win FISSURE Playground 2 title

The MongolZ go down in a five-map thriller

FURIA bested The MongolZ in a thrilling five-map grand final at the FISSURE Playground 2 which sees FalleN and co. pick up their first LAN title of the year. For The MongolZ, who were looking to make it back-to-back LAN titles after their Esports World Cup 2025 triumph, they will have to suffice with the silver medal for now. For the veteran legend FalleN, it is his first big LAN event win in almost eight years, since his win at the EPL Season 6 in 2017.

The BO5 final kicked off on Mirage and it was 910's AWP that helped The MongolZ go 8-4 up on their own map pick at the half. Switching to the CT side, The MongolZ were barely able to put up a defence as FURIA hit back before The MongolZ saw off two map points to take the opening map to overtime. Another back and forth affair finally ended in FURIA's favour, who picked up a 16-13 win with molodoy topping the scoreboard with 28 kills. Inferno was another back and forth affair as The MongolZ fought back from being 5-9 down to go on a seven round T streak to hit map point first before FURIA threatened overtime again. The MongolZ managed to hang on for a 13-11 win to tie up the series heading into their second pick.

Nuke was all set and done as YEKINDAR's domination helped FURIA go 12-3 up but the Brazilians almost choked a 12-3 lead to let The MongolZ hit back and push the map to overtime on the back of 9 straight CT rounds. It was YEKINDAR along with KSCERATO making sure FURIA didn't drop the ball as they kept it clean in overtime to take a 16-12 win.

A strong T side led by mzinho, Techno and 910 saw The MongolZ start Overpass with a four round lead and despite FURIA fighting back on their CT half, a big 1v2 from mzinho paved way for a 13-9 win to push the final to a decider on Dust2.

Crisp shooting from mzinho saw The MongolZ start the decider on Dust2 with the CT pistol before KSCERATO and yuurih got FURIA's T side going as soon as the Brazilian team picked up the guns. It looked like FURIA would run away with a big T side Senzu and 910 picked up a big round right at the end to keep FURIA's lead to two. A messy pistol from The MongolZ saw FURIA pick up a massive second half pistol and a flawless CT half saw FURIA dominate their way to a 13-5 win to seal a 3-2 win and win the FISSURE Playground 2 title.
