FlyQuest eliminated from DraculaN Season 2 by GenOne
FlyQuest's struggling DraculaN Season 2 campaign has come to an end after a lower bracket round 3 loss to French team GenOne. The Oceania team were stunned in their opening game by relative unknowns in BASEMENT BOYS and fought off Metizport and SINNERS in the lower bracket but were unable to beat former Revenant Esports' captain NBK- and his team. FlyQuest had started the series with a win on their map pick but were reverse swept and knocked out.
The French team race away to a 5-1 start on FlyQuest's pick of Mirage on their T side and it was regali's AWP again stepping up that made sure FlyQuest ended the half with four in a row to tie up the opening half. With jks and nettik having a strong T side, FlyQuest turned around a back and forth start to end Mirage with five in a row to steal a 13-10 win.
Overpass was a similar story as GenOne's force buy win on their T side saw them go on a five-round streak early on before FlyQuest had to fight back once again on their defensive half, this time though, managing only five rounds. Both pistols and a conversion meant, FlyQuest took the lead but it was shortlived as Chucky led the way for the French for them to tie up the series after a 13-10 win of their own, with Chucky topping the scoreboard with 24 kills.
GenOne kicked off Dust2 with a team ace on their CT pistol and FlyQuest had no answer to the French defence early on, as GenOne raced away to a 6-0 lead. It eventually took a nettik doble opener in tunnels to see FlyQuest get on the board of the back of a delayed B spilt. Two more B hits saw FlyQuest end their T side with three rounds and that was all as they weren't able to mount a comeback this time around, with GenOne locking in a 13-8 win to reverse sweep the series 2-1.
The loss meant that FlyQuest's journey at DraculaN Season 2 came to an end in the lower bracket while GenOne fight on and move into the lower bracket semi-finals. FlyQuest, meanwhile, who came in as one of the tournament favourites, exit DraculaN Season in 7-8th place.
