3DMAX knock Rooster down to the 0-2 pool at EPL S22
After 3DMAX lost to Inner Circle and Rooster lost to G2 in their opening round matchups, both teams faced off in the 0-1 pool at ESL Pro League Season 22 Stage 1. The series started on Rooster's pick, Overpass. After conceding a pistol round post plant, the Aussies stole the anti-eco and converted the next couple of rounds before 3DMAX's Lucky and bodyy stepped up with massive CT-side impact, taking a slight 7-5 advantage at halftime.
chelleos and Terry delivered consecutive multi-frag rounds to propel Rooster to a 5-0 start in the second half, hitting double figures right out the gate. The Ex3rcice-Maka duo pulled 3DMAX back in the game with 2.19 and 1.60 rating performances on the T-side as the Frenchmen put six on the trot to recover and win Overpass 13-10, going 1-0 up in the series. Both Lucky and Ex3rcice finished Overpass with ratings of 1.33.
Inferno was a much more one-sided affair. Starting on the CT-side, 3DMAX stole the anti-eco after fumbling the pistol round on the CT-side and ran away with a 7-1 start. Ex3rcice, Graviti and bodyy put up ratings of 1.82, 1.55 and 1.53 on the CT-side, fetching 3DMAX a big 9-3 lead in the first half. Rooster could not pick up a single CT-side round as 3DMAX picked up right where they left off to close Inferno 13-3 and wrap the series 2-0, heading up to the 1-1 pool. Rooster are now two games down in the Swiss system group stage and will play their next match in the 0-2 pool with their backs against elimination.
