Skyesports shifts vision towards tier-2 CS events

Here's what's on the cards for Skyesports

Just a month away from Skyesports Masters 2025, the Indian tournament organizer took to X, announcing the cancellation of the event. The TO also announced cancellations of two other tier-1 Counter-Strike events planned for March and September 2026. In their initial Counter-Strike road map, Skyesports were set to host three tier-1 events and one tier-2 event in 2025. This however got trimmed down to two events- Skyesports Souvenir National Championship which took place in Bengaluru and Skyesports Masters 2025 (tier-1) which is now cancelled.

The announcement cancelling Skyesports Masters 2025 also included crucial information, showing Skyesports' vision for Counter-Strike in the upcoming year. "Going forward, out focus will shift towards strengthening the tier-2 and grassroots ecosystem" said Skyesports in their post on X.

Skyesports affirmed their stance towards investing in the tier-2 Counter-Strike scene starting at CEGC 2025's Counter-Strike 2 event. As of now, no Counter-Strike 2 events remain on Skyesports' 2026 calendar but are expected to be announced soon. Skyesports CEO added to the post, saying "Sometimes stepping back is the key to moving forward stronger. We’ve learned, adapted, and are building the future of Counter Strike2 from the ground up. "
