JDC on playing against Arise: "We had to work for every round"
BIG have sailed into the final of the Skyesports Chennai Esports Global Championship 2025 after their win over Indian team Arise. It was a 2-0 for BIG but the German squad were challenged through certain periods through that series.
Post their win over Arise, BIG's JDC spoke to Dust2 India about the game, talking about the match, being pleasantly surprised by the challenged they faced, BIG playing under FreeZe and even gave some tips to the young Indian Counter-Strike players.
Read below what he had to say.
Pretty comfortable close out for you. But did it get scary on Overpass when they were trying to close the lead on CT side?
I think they played pretty good actually. We did not underestimate them but they knew what they were doing. They still tried to play very meta CS and they were shooting us well. We had to work for every round.
On Inferno, it was a much more comfortable showing from you despite it being their map pick. Were you prepared?
We hadn't prepared against them specifically, just for ourselves. I think we are trying to focus on just playing our game, and that should be enough for us every day.
tabseN had recently given up IGLing to have more freedom as a fragger. How has the team dynamic changed since then with FreeZe calling?
The dynamic right now is pretty good. We have made a lot of changes in that terms, especially with tabseN not calling anymore, he has more freedom. He can relax a little bit as well. The players in general have way more freedom now. The system of FreeZe is based on individuals making the decision, the individuals talking a lot, which has helped me as well in the game. And yeah, it has been very good since then.
You said Arise played pretty well, was there a particular player that striked out to you?
I think it was clouda, right? He had some good scenes where he made multi-kills? I remember on Overpass he was B-short, he got a kill from there. He head-shotted me pretty instantly. He had a couple of good scenes. I'd take him.
India is still a struggling region when it comes to CS, is there any advice you'd like to give to Arise?
I think the advice to be that, you watch as many top teams as you can. Try to replicate what they are doing. And keep up individually. I know there are not a lot of DM-servers or all that stuff here, so either ramp up on that. Or try to use aim-trainer, or watch other player' POV. Especially donk's POV, I'd recommend.
