Deep Cross see off Nemesis to finish third at CEGC 2025
Deep Cross Gaming saw off a late comeback attempt by Nemesis SEA in the third place game at the Skyesports Chennai Esports Global Championship (CEGC) 2025 to finish third in the $49,000 LAN event. The third place decider was a BO1 encounter, which saw former True Rippers AWPer, DayMake and co. dominate for the majority of the game to head home with the third place finish.
The action headed to Nuke where Deep Cross started with a 3v4 retake on the A site to take the CT pistol. After seeing off a clean anti-eco round, Deep Cross went on a four-round streak before ImpressioN and Kuma turned around a 2v5 to get Nemesis on the board. There was only one more round Nemesis could put up on their T side as a 10-2 start for Deep Cross had their primed for the win.
A w1sely triple, opening and closing the round on the second pistol saw Deep Cross win both pistols but w1nt3r and ImpressioN answered with the upgraded pistols to see Nemesis bring the score to 7-11. DayMake and clyd1e opened up and held on to the A site to hit map point. A ramp hit with DayMake lurking from outside was the final nail in the coffin for Nemesis and Deep Cross didn't give their opponent's anymore rounds as they closed Nuke at 13-7.
The win for Deep Cross Gaming sees them finish third at the Skyesports Chennai Esports Global Championship 2025 and will take home a prize money of $4,000.
