Arise get reverse swept by Nemesis to be sent packing

Arise fall flat after strong start

After a impressive show on Mirage that raised hopes for a win for an Indian team at the Skyesports Chennai Esports Global Championship 2025, Arise fell flat and were reverse swept out of the tournament by Nemesis. With both teams still in the running to make the third place decider game, there was a lot to play for and it was a disappointing end to the Indian team's campaign which sees them exit the event in last place in Group A.

Benzene and clouda made sure Arise kicked off Mirage with a big CT side pistol, which they built on clouda and late activation from reV3nnnn's AWP saw Arise race away to an 8-1 lead. After a short technical delay, the action resumed as Nemesis found some rhythm on their T side to close out the half with three in row to finish with four T rounds.

A 5-man B hit in the second pistol saw reV3nnnn come in with a big 1v2 clutch to see Arise lock in both pistols on their opponent's map pick. Zumss' 1v2 in the first gun round of the half saw Nemesis get on the board but Arise answered back instantly as clouda held on in a nervy 1v1 on the B site. It got hairy on the B site but Arise held on and managed to close out Mirage at 13-8. It was clouda on top of the scoreboard on Mirage, with the Indian rifler finishing with 23 kills.

EmbeR and Bhavi teamed up in perfect sync to hand Arise the T side pistol on Train and after a 4-0 start. Nemesis finally found some footing on the defensive hold to take the lead. A stellar CT side saw Nemesis close out the opening half on the back of eight straight rounds to take an 8-4 lead.

The second half pistol for Nemesis saw them race away to map point before a massive clouda clutch got Arise's CT side comeback going. Arise had the golden opportunity to push it to overtime, having broken Arise' economy but a Tec-9 rush from Nemesis saw Arise fumble and falter which handed Nemesis the map at 13-9.

The decider, which took the action to Overpass, saw reV3nnnn and clouda see off a B hit from Nemesis to hand the opening pistol to the Indian team. Nemesis answered back with the force and managed to hold on against a scary force from Arise. After a dominant five-round T side streak from Nemesis, a couple of multi-kills from reV3nnnn and Benzene saw Arise salvage four CT rounds.

An instant shut down from Zumss and w1nt3r saw Nemesis pick up a clean CT pistol and hit double digits in no time. Openers from EmbeR and clouda along with Bhavi finding form saw Arise push it to all the rounds in regulation but there were unable to stick a comeback as Nemesis held on for a shaky 13-11 win to reverse sweep the series 2-1.

The win also puts Nemesis into the third place decider game, where they will go up against Deep Cross Gaming for a prize money of $4,000.
