FACEIT bans over 11,000 accounts
Adding to their ban wave, FACEIT took to X earlier today announcing that over 11,000 accounts were hammered with bans to combat FACEIT's smurfing and multi-account problem. In the last three months alone FACEIT has banned over 45,000 accounts bringing the twelve-month total to well over 333,000 accounts.
"Kind reminder to all players to check your notifications. Elo restorations or deductions from this ban wave can be substantial.", says FACEIT, emphasizing the very volume of the crack down. While some players have reported Elo reversals in the range of 25-50, others complain that despite the ban confirmation message, they have not received the Elo lost from these games.
FACEIT's developers have been on the grind, rolling out several major anti-cheat update and requirement updates such as TPM 2.0, secure boot and IOMMU to combat the rising closet cheaters problem.
