Twitch greenlights StarLadder's Major streams with gambling site sponsor
Earlier this month, the community were confused with the StarLadder arrangement, given that the Major's main sponsor- Rollbit was not allowed on Twitch, making life extremely difficult for community co-streamers. With Rollbit being banned on Twitch and YouTube, co-streamers questioned if their streams would get taken down for breaching platform rules.
However, it has now been confirmed that Twitch has greenlit StarLadder for the Budapest Major's streams on it's platform strictly restricting the "Rollbit" banner to just physical branding, allowing no verbal references whatsoever. Twitch's 2022 gambling update banned sites like Rollbit from sponsoring content on the platform and streamers were not allowed to promote through affiliate codes.
The StarLadder Budapest 2025 Major is just a couple of days away. The first stage begins with a sixteen-team Swiss system format and three more progressive iterations of the same will finalize a single-elimination eight-team playoffs bracket. The Major's grand-final will run a Bo5 setting, becoming the first ever Counter-Strike Major to do so.
