Rare Atom eliminated from StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 with a 0-3 record
Rare Atom have been eliminated from the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 after their loss to GamerLegion in their 0-2 bracket game. The Chinese team exit the Major with a disappointing 0-3 record, leaving Budapest without winning a single map in Stage 1.
REZ and PR's doubles saw GamerLegion start Rare Atom's pick of Inferno with the T pistol, converting an execute on the A site. Rare Atom instantly hit back by turning around a 3v5 with ChildKing's Five-Seven doing God's work with a massive triple that was closed out by a Marek double. After a couple of back and forth rounds early on, it was PR leading from the front to see GamerLegion win out the half at 7-5. PR and Tauson's crisp shooting made sure GamerLegion locked in both pistols on Inferno and building off that, GamerLegion kept it clean on their CT side to secure a comfortable 13-7 win with PR dropping an impressive 1.64 rating.
On their own pick of Overpass, despite seeing ChildKing come in with a big 1v2 clutch in the pistol, impact from REZ on the force buy saw GamerLegion find momentum to race away to a 9-3 lead. hypex's Dualies came in with a big quad-kill that made sure GamerLegion evened out the pistols on Overpass and while ChildKing tried his level best to keep Rare Atom in the game, it was GamerLegion closing things out with a 13-5 win as REZ's 20 kill show saw GamerLegion keep themselves alive and send Rare Atom home.
