Media: The MongolZ tried to get jL and Magixx before controlez for Budapest Major

The MongolZ with two Major winners?

In the latest episode of the All About Counter-Strike podcast, hosted by Banks and DevilWalk, The MongolZ's mzinho was one of the guests along with FalleN, t1NR, ZywOo and AleksiB. During his segment, mzinho shared some interesting details about The MongolZ almost signing two Major winners, in jL or magixx to stand-in for Senzu for the ongoing StarLadder Budapest Major 2025.

mzinho joins the talk at the 1:36.15hr mark and states that after coming back from Malta, (Thunderpick World Championship 2025 took place in Malta where The MongolZ finished 3rd and it was Senzu's last tournament with the team) The MongolZ reached out to Natus Vincere's benched Major winning MVP, jL but were unsuccessful in getting a response from him. The team also reached out to former Spirit's Major-winning player magixx, who was ready to come onboard and stick with the team for the remainder of the year.

mzinho shared that before finalising the deal with Magixx, it was actually The MongolZ's AWPer 910, who asked the team to consider controlez. mzinho also confirmed that they team would have switched to communication in English should either of jL or magixx have stood on board.

The youngster also spoke about the team dynamic without Senzu, stating that despite Senzu not being apart of the roster, the team belief never went away and they prepared well prior to the Major, with a bootcamp in Serbia as well. He stated that the team learnt about Senzu decision to take a step back from the team just 7 days before the rosterlock which was the reason for the team looking outside Mongolia as well for last minute replacement.

The young Mongolian player also speaks about The MongolZ's team dynamics, dealing with social media hate, a busy schedule on the Counter-Strike calendar, how they recover, his current form and an interesting story about his brother and him and how he joined The MongolZ amongst many more stories.

The MongolZ are the only team from Asia remaining at the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 and after a shaky start in Stage 3, bLitz and co. turned things around and qualified for the Playoffs with a 3-1 record. The MongolZ will face Vitality in their quarter-final game with the encounter set to be a rematch of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 Grand Final, where The MongolZ had gone down to Vitality.
