zweih magic sees Spirit overpower Falcons to make final four at the Budapest Major 2025
Spirit broke their poor run against Falcons when it mattered most as donk and co. took down Falcons in straight maps in the quarter-final at the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025. Spirit move into the final four while NiKo heads home with the illusive Major trophy still eluding him.
A kyousuke and m0NESY full house saw Falcons start their pick of Nuke with the T pistol and after the conversion against the eco, it was a seven round streak from Spirit and big site holds from zweih on the top site and sh1ro at B saw Spirit win out the half early on. kyousuke's entries got Falcons a couple of rounds back and just when it look like they had salvaged the half to at least five, zweih closed out the opening half with an ace to see Spirit take a four round lead. A quick A hit opened up by donk saw Spirit even out the pistols and it was a waltz for donk and co. as they breezed to a 13-4 win. zweih finished the opening map with 21 kills in 16 rounds with an ADR of 113.6.

After dropping the pistol and force buy, Falcons hit back with a second force as kyxsan's Five-Seven got Falcons on the board early on to get their CT side going. A strong start from the trio of NiKo, m0NESY and kyousuke saw Falcons go 7-5 up and after a clean pistol win and conversions, Falcons were up 11-5 in no time. sh1ro's AWP got Spirit's first CT round and with donk continuing to deliver, it was zweih, the hero on Nuke, stepping up after a slow start to close out regulation with an ace on a one-man B hold to push Spirit to overtime. A clean run in overtime saw Spirit race to a 16-12 win with donk ending Spirit's pick with 30 kills.
