The MongolZ outclassed out of the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025
It was a rematch of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 Grand Final and The MongolZ came into this encounter having beaten Vitality twice in the second half of 2025 but Vitality took none of that into account as ZywOo stepped up in typical fashion from the French superstar which saw Vitality send The MongolZ packing from the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 after a 2-0 win in the second quarter-final.
A mezii quad saw Vitality start The MongolZ's pick of Mirage with a retake on the CT pistol but bLitz's Deagle saw the Mongolians answer back with the pistol. The force buy win gave The MongolZ a couple of early rounds but it was ZywOo warming up and it was all about the French superstar from there on. After a 7-5 half in Vitality's favour, it was a flawless T side from Vitality and even though, a couple of rounds came down to the wire, ZywOo's 25-kill show saw Vitality start with a big 13-5 win. controlez, who came into the Playoffs as The MongolZ's highest rated player, had a nightmare opening map, taking 11 rounds to get on the board and finished with 6 kills with a rating of 0.53.
Dust2 started the same way as Mirage got going with Vitality taking the pistol, this time on their T side but bLitz once again came in with impact to see The MongolZ answer with a force. Sloppy plays from controlez saw Vitality answer back with a low buy and it was the ZywOo and ropz showing including a big 1v3 from ropz that saw Vitality dominate on their T side. Barring mzinho and one-off sharp shots, there was nothing from The MongolZ as Vitality went 8-4 up before it was another flawless half to close out a 13-4 win. ZywOo was on top of the scoreboard again with 21 kills and an ADR of 126.4.
Vitality will now take on Spirit in the semi-final of the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 while The MongolZ head home after a thrashing at the hands of apEX and co.
