Rare Atom off to a strong start at eXTREMESLAND
The home team Rare Atom started their eXTREMESLAND 2025 campaign against Rooster earlier today. The best-of-one took us to Inferno where Rooster started on the T-side with a 5-1 lead off of chellos and TjP's early game success. Fumbling a series of post plants, the Aussies let their advantage slip as Rare Atom closed the gap to 5-7 at halftime.
Pistol, anti-eco and bonus conversions to start the second half saw Rare Atom steal the lead away from Rooster. Winning the first gun round to time, Rooster levelled the score right away and made it competitive. Despite Rooster's marginal halftime lead, Rare Atom emerged ahead in the back and forth round trades, closing the map with the tiniest of margins at 13-11.
In their second game, Rare Atom took on VTM on Ancient. The Vietnamese side just could not catch a break, getting picked off by ChildKing and L1haNg while setting up their plays. The duo finished the first half with ratings in excess of 1.60 and ADRs in excess of 100. Getting crushed down to a 2-10 disadvantage on Ancient's dominant side, VTM's comeback hopes rested on pistol and anti-eco conversions but Rare Atom cleared a flawless CT-side to close Ancient 13-2 and get off to a 2-0 start in Group C. Rare Atom are the second team in the tournament to mark a clean 2-0 start.
