PGL moves its Belgrade event again

PGL Belgrade 2025 was also relocated

Through a post on X, PGL has announced that PGL Belgrade 2026 has been moved to Bucharest and renamed to PGL Masters Bucharest 2026. PGL's 2025 event in Belgrade was also moved to Bucharest. Initially set to start on 24th October 2026, the newly announced PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 starts a couple of days earlier on 22nd October 2026 and will wrap up on 31st October 2026, just two days before IEM China 2026.

The main event will host a total of sixteen teams and slot distribution is as follows:

  • World Global VRS: 12 teams

  • Asian Qualifier: 1 team

  • North American Qualifier: 1 team

  • South American Qualifier: 1 team

  • European Qualifier: 1 team

The open and closed qualifiers for PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 will take place in September 2026. Europe, North and South America gets two open qualifiers per region to determine four teams for the closed qualifier who will join four other other invited through the Europen VRS. PGL has classified Asian open qualifiers into three regions- east, west and Oceania. Each region gets open and closed qualifiers sending three teams into the Asia final which hands out the main event slot.

The main event starts with a Swiss System group stage where all games are best-of-threes. Teams with three wins head into the playoffs and teams with three losses are eliminated. The tournament concludes with an eight-team single-elimination best-of-three playoffs with the best-of-five grand-final taking place on 31st October 2026.
