Twistzz picks up sixth Top 20 Player of the Year appearance after #11 ranking in 2025

FaZe's Twistzz has been revealed as #11 in the HLTV Top 20 Player of the Year list for 2025 with the Canadian star making his sixth HLTV Top 20 of the Year appearance. The Canadian also makes his return to the Top 20 Players of the Year list after missing out in 2024.

Despite not picking up any trophies in 2025, Twistzz himself stood out for Liquid and FaZe, with a 1.16 rating across the year. He started strong with Liquid despite Liquid's struggles, Twistzz finished 2025 as Liquid's highest rated player across the year with a 1.14 rating, even though he left the team in September 2025. Moving to FaZe in September, despite only a limited time frame, Twistzz finished 2025 also as FaZe's highest rated player with a 1.19 rating. The Canadian's best rated tournament came at ESL Pro League Season 22, where FaZe finished fourth with Twistzz himself dropping an incredible 1.32 rating. While he did not pick up any MVP award in 2025, he finished 2025 with three EVP awards, with those coming at the FISSURE Playground 2, ESL Pro League Season 22 and StarLadder Budapest Major 2025.

Having made his debut back in 2015 with Tectonic, Twistzz represented teams like SKDC, AGG, KKona, TSM and Misfits before his breakthrough chapter with Liquid. After joining Liquid back in April 2017, Twistzz stayed with the team for almost four years, during which he won almost off titles including the Intel Grand Slam and IEM Cologne. The Major and Katowice were two titles that eluded Twistzz and Liquid during Astralis' legendary run but Twistzz made his name as one of the best riflers in the business. In January 2021, he moved to FaZe for another stellar stint and with FaZe, he filled up the missing pieces of his trophy cabinet, winning the Major (PGL Antwerp 2022) and IEM Katowice 2023 along with a host of other trophies. After another incredible chapter, Twistzz returned to Liquid at the end of the 2023 season but his second run with Liquid was not as successful as his early stint which saw him finish his second chapter with Liquid without any silverware.

Twistzz returned to FaZe in September 2025 in an attempt to get back to winning ways but Twistzz and co. are yet to pick up a trophy. A second place finish at the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 has been the closest Twistzz and his team have come to picking up a trophy, but the wait continues.
