Austin 2025 Major holds the record for CS2's peak viewership for the year

As per an Esports Charts report, Counter-Strike finished 2025 as the year's second most watched esports game. Whether it was Vitality going on one of the most dominant runs of recent times in the first season or molodoy breaking out into the S-tier space, cementing his Rookie of the Year title, Counter-Strike had a stellar year. The MongolZ took Asian Counter-Strike to new heights, giving Vitality a run for their money in the grand-final at Austin, Falcons integrated kyousuke into their already stacked lineup, donk had a monstrous year and ZywOo was just on another level.

All things considered, Counter-Strike 2 grew its watch time by nearly 35% over the previous year, becoming the only title to do so. The BLAST.tv Austin Major tops the year's events when looked at peak viewership numbers. With a total airtime of just over 25,000 hours, Counter-Strike 2 posted watch time of 584.7 million hours to grab the second spot, trailing League of Legends by ~150 million hours.

Counter-Strike 2 takes third spot in the list of most popular esports games of 2025 when sorted by peak concurrent viewers. League of Legends and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang hold the top two spots by a hefty margin.
