Players claim false VAC bans after new CS2 update
2026's first Counter-Strike update arrived earlier today and in less than a couple of hours, hundreds of players swarm to Reddit and other social media platforms, posting about false VAC bans. A similar false ban wave terrorized the community back in December 2023 but Valve quickly backtracked the issue and reversed the bans.
Many Counter-Strike content creators took to X, posting about the false VAC wave. A video clip also shows the creator of Alpine, getting VAC banned on his own map. Valve are known to push silent VAC updates and the last one caused a similar situation.
Valve has not made a comment on the situation yet but many including Indian Counter-Strike content creator @ThourCS2, advise the community to keep their Premier activity to a minimum until Valve speaks out about or addresses the issue.
