The MongolZ battle past B8 to move close to Playoffs in Cluj-Napoca
The MongolZ held on for a nervy win against B8 in their Swiss round 3 game at the ongoing PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026 event. A 2-1 win for The MongolZ in the 1-1 pool sees them move to the 2-1 bracket and are a win away from Playoffs.
The series kicked off on B8's pick of Ancient with 910 and bLitz powering The MongolZ to a 9-3 start on their CT side. Despite a late comeback attempt from the Ukranian team, The MongolZ were able to hold on for a 13-9 win as 910 shone with a 1.51 rating with 21 kills. B8 hit back hard on The MongolZ's pick of Mirage, a map on which The MongolZ had beaten Vitality the day before. npl's 19 kill half saw B8 put up a near flawless CT side before closing things out at 13-7 to tie up the series with npl dropping 22 kills and a 1.88 rating on the second map.

Nuke was a compilation of streaks of round from either team as a seven round streak on the CT side saw The MongolZ start the decider with a two round lead before B8 held on against three map and match points to force overtime. B8 started overtime with a clean CT side before The MongolZ put up a streak of three of their own to push the match to double overtime and the Mongolian team was able to hold on in second overtime for a 19-17 win to take the series 2-1. 910 was the deciding factor on Nuke as the AWPer dropped 38 kills to help his team secure the win and he finished the series with a 1.49 rating.
