
Bhavi and co. crash out of PGL Bucharest West Asia CQ
Biryani, featuring the Indian duo of Bhavi and Ph1NNN took on ScarX in the consolidation final of the PGL Bucharest West Asia closed qualifier. The first map of the best-of-three took us to Mirage where ScarX started on the T-side and were hammered down to a 4-8 disadvantage. The Pakistani trio fired on all cylinders with HSB topping the charts at an ADR of 108 at halftime. Pistol and anti-eco conversions saw Biryani hit double figures before conceding a trio of gun rounds.
Closing Mirage 13-7, Biryani went 1-0 up into the next map which was their pick- Dust2. Biryani picked up where they left off, starting Dust2 with pistol, anti-eco and bonus conversions but couldn't keep the momentum going. Dili and Berar powered ScarX to a five-round streak, netting them a 7-5 lead at halftime. Switching over, the Iranian squad had a field day on the T-side of Dust2, closing the map without dropping a single round in the second half. ScarX's 13-5 win on Dust2 pushed the series into the decider- Anubis.
ScarX continued their T-side dominance, starting Anubis with a 5-0 lead on the dominant side. With Bhavi, Ph1NNN and HSB stepping up, Biryani recovered and restricted ScarX's lead to a modest 7-5 at the end of the first half. Switching over, Biryani levelled the score right away with pistol and anti-eco wins and were up 9-7 in no time. ScarX's early lead allowed the team to reset and recover, eventually securing a 13-10 win on Anubis, ending Biryani's PGL Bucharest 2026 West Asia closed qualifier campaign.
ScarX will now face Legion in the grand-final and the winner advances to the Asian closed qualifier. Three teams are put in a round-robin best-of-three, sending the topper to the main event- PGL Bucharest 2026.
