Media: dexter raises issue of scheduling conflicts for THUNDER dOWNUNDER
It is not often that the Oceania region is stacked with Counter-Strike tournaments but on the occasion of teams having multiple games lined up, they have been plagued by scheduling conflicts for the majority of it. Former MOUZ and FlyQuest captain dexter's THUNDER dOWNUNDER are currently taking part in the PGL Bucharest 2026 Asia Closed Qualifier but the Australian team has been the victim of events clashing and them not being able to participate properly in either.
Earlier today, February 28, 2026, THUNDER dOWNUNDER was scheduled to play The Huns and Legion in the PGL Bucharest 2026 Asia Closed Qualifier, after qualifying through the Oceania qualifier but unfortunately for the Australian squad, the Bucharest qualifier clashed with the grand final of the CCT Season 3 Oceania Series 4. dexter and his boys were supposed to take on Mindfreak in the final of CCT Season 3 Oceania Series 4 but the clash with the Bucharest qualifier meant that the Australian team were the biggest losers of the day, despite there being multiple events for the region.

THUNDER dOWNUNDER faced The Huns in their opening game of the PGL Bucharest 2026 Asia Closed Qualifier at 08:45 AM IST and they went down 0-2 to the Mongolian team in their first game of the day.

THUNDER dOWNUNDER's second game in the Bucharest qualifier was against Pakistani team Legion, which kicked off at 11:20 AM IST and after a dominating win on the opening map of Inferno, the Australian team were on the backfoot on Dust2. THUNDER dOWNUNDER were 6-12 down in the second map when they forfeited the game due to them having to join the server for the CCT Season 3 Oceania Seris 4 final.

The CCT Season 3 Oceania Series 4 final was scheduled to start at 12:30 PM IST and with THUNDER dOWNUNDER playing against Legion in the Bucharest qualifier, they had to forfeit the opening two maps since the CCT admins did not comply with their request to postpone the game. The BO5 final was already 2-0 in Mindfreak's favour as a result of dexter's team having to forfeit the first two maps and Mindfreak beat THUNDER dOWNUNDER 13-6 on Anubis, the third map, to win the final 3-0, albeit having played only one map.

Post having to forfeit the CCT final, dexter said on X that his team joined with 2 minutes to go but the CCT admins forfeited them as a result of the camera angles of THUNDER dOWNUNDER. dexter's teammate, aliStair also echoed the same sentiments, calling out the non-compliance of the CCT admins and even said that Mindfreak also agreed to delay the final for THUNDER dOWNUNDER but it was the admins that denied the request.
As a result of clash of games and scenarios, THUNDER dOWNUNDER and Legion's PGL Bucharest 2026 Asia Closed Qualifier game has been postponed, with the third map of the series being scheduled for March 1, 2026 at 12:30 IST. The Australian squad won the first map while Legion fought back to take the second map.
