Legion beat ScarX to qualify for PGL Bucharest 2026 Asia Closed Qualifier
Pakistani team Legion have made their way through the PGL Bucharest 2026 West Asia Closed Qualifier to qualify for the PGL Bucharest 2026 Asia Closed Qualifier after completing a flawless run through the West Asia Closed Qualifier. PokemoN and co. beat ScarX in the final to book their berth in the Asia Closed Qualifier.
The Iranian team's pick of Mirage was the opening map of the series with ScarX getting a good streak of rounds on the board once they brought out the guns to tie up the opening half, despite losing the opening pistol and the following conversions. Legion secured both pistols and hit double digits instantly before a five-round CT streak from ScarX saw them go on to take the lead of the map. A trade of rounds in the final couple of rounds saw overtime being needed. It was a back and forth affair in overtime as well as it took two overtimes to decide the winner with 30 bombs from HZI and Bloody getting Legion over the line at 19-17.
On their pick of Dust2, the Pakistani squad were much more comfortable and it showed as they were all over ScarX, starting with a dominant T half. It was a near flawless half as Legion went 11-1 on their T side before closing out the series with a 13-6 win on their map pick to lock in the series 2-0.
Bloody and HZI both had a strong series with the duo dropping a 1.31 rating and 1.34 rating respectively across the two maps in the final to see Legion qualify. By qualifying for the Asia Closed Qualifier, Legion joins The Huns and THUNDER dOWNUNDER, and the three teams will fight it out to make it to the main event, PGL Bucharest 2026.
