The Huns win MESA Pro Series Winter 2026

The playoffs of the MESA Pro Series Winter 2026 came to close a couple of days back. It was Chinggis Warriors who comfortably cleared the double-elimination bracket, dropping just a single map in the process. Lets take a quick look at how the tournament reached its conclusion:

Round 1

The Huns vs Chinggis Warriors

The Huns took on Chinggis Warriors in the playoffs opener and controlez had a field day against his former team. The series started on Nuke with The Huns on the CT-side and controlez fired on all cylinders, fetching The Huns a respectable 8-4 lead at halftime. controlez posted a 2.50 rating CT-side with an ADR of 143, going 19-7. The Huns looked shaky on the T-side as Chinggis Warriors traded round for round until eventually The Huns' early lead pushed them across the line at 13-8.

Chinggis Warriors returned the favor on Mirage, throwing The Huns down to a 4-8 deficit in the first side and then went to close the map off of their CT-side lead, 13-8. ROUX and Efire did most of the heavy lifting to keep Chinggis Warriors alive. The decider took us to Overpass and The Huns were down 4-8 again at halftime after a poor CT-side showing. controlez led the charge on the T-side as The Huns closed the gap to push Overpass into overtime. A whole MR12's worth of overtime saw The Huns overshadow Chinggis Warriors to advance to the upper-final.

BMZ vs NEXVOID

NEXVOID started strong on their pick of Anubis with an 8-4 lead on the T-side but fumbled the advantage, following an abysmal T-side showing. Dropping just a single round in the second half, BMZ put up a 9-1 T-side to crush NEXVOID's defenses and steal the opening map 13-9. NEXVOID could not reset and start over on Ancient with the team crumbling on the CT-side to concede a 4-8 deficit. BMZ then put up a flawless CT-side to close Ancient 13-4 and wrap the series 2-0.

Chinggis Warriors vs NEXVOID (Lower bracket)

Chinggis Warriors picked themselves up from a narrow loss against The Huns and breezed past NEXVOID in the first lower-bracket match. The series started on Overpass with Chinggis Warriors pushing NEXVOID down to a 4-8 deficit. Dropping just a single round in the second half, Chinggis Warriors secured Overpass 13-5. Things went from bad to worse for NEXVOID in the second map as tikuak and Efire rattled their defenses on Nuke. After a hefty 10-2 lead on the T-side, Chinggis Warriors closed Nuke 13-3 to secure a 2-0 win.

Round 2

The Huns vs BMZ

BMZ gave The Huns a run for their money in the opening map- Ancient, going toe to toe after a 6-6 first half until The Huns closed the map by the skin of their teeth with a 13-11 scoreline. BMZ couldn't quite keep up their initial momentum, slipping down a 4-8 disadvantage on the CT-side of Nuke. The Huns dropped just a single round and closed Nuke 13-5 to send BMZ down to the lower bracket.

Chinggis Warriors vs BMZ (Lower-bracket)

BMZ once again started off with a level 6-6 first half in the opening map- Nuke. However, BMZ fell apart on the T-side, managing to win just a single round to concede the opening map 7-13 to Chinggis Warriors. Chinggis Warriors barely broke a sweat on Ancient, taking down BMZ 13-5 to send them packing and wrap the series 2-0, setting up a rematch against The Huns in the grand-final. It was ROUX once again who topped charts for Chinggis Warriors with an ADR of 101 across the series.

The Huns vs Chinggis Warriors

After getting knocked down to the lower bracket by The Huns in the first round, Chinggis Warriors now stood against them in the grand-final after taking down BMZ and NEXVOID in the lower bracket. However, their rematch wasn't quite as close as their opening encounter as nin9 dropped a colossal 2.97 rating game on Inferno, handing a crushing 13-2 loss to Chinggis Warriors. nin9 went 24-6 and posted an ADR of 164 in the opening map. Chinggis Warriors just could not catch a break, going down 3-9 on the CT-side of Ancient. tikuak and ROUX briefly stepped up in the second half but The Huns kept things under control and closed Ancient 13-9 to close the series 2-0 and claim their first event win of the year.
