FISSURE Playground 3 cancelled

Organizer cites "logistical conflict"

Through a post on X, FISSURE- the organizer behind Playground 1 and 2 has announced that the third iteration of the Playground event has been cancelled. "We explored a range of alternative scenarios and rescheduling options to keep the event on the calendar", said the organizer on X, before citing that the event was binned due to a "logistical conflict in the competitive calendar." FISSURE Playground 3 was set to take place in Shenzhen from 20th to 26th April 2026.

FISSURE has been under scrutiny for a while for alleged prize pool payment delays and there were even rumors on reddit about the organizer going bankrupt. FISSURE quickly cleared the air on prize pool payment delays by redirecting the blame towards their "banking partners".

Talking further about FISSURE Playground 3's cancellation, the organizer mentioned that the dates overlapped with "another major tournament" in South America, referring to IEM Rio which ends just a day before FISSURE Playground 3 was set to start. FISSURE also went ahead and cancelled their summer events for 2026 and 2027 which were previously announced.

Our experience hosting FISSURE Playground 1 showed that tournaments held during the players break do not deliver the level of competition and spectacle that we are committed to providing our audience.

The organizer assures that other FISSURE events remain unaffected and will take place as scheduled. A Playground event in September is FISSURE's only Counter-Strike tournament on the cards for 2026 while two FISSURE events are scheduled for 2027 and four events for 2028.
