The MongolZ revealed as one of the invited teams for PGL Astana 2026
PGL have revealed the 12 invited teams for their PGL Astana 2026 event, with The MongolZ being the only invited Asian team. The tournament will take place between May 9 - May 17, 2026 with 16 teams fighting it out for a $1.6 million prize pool. Almost all of the top 10 teams will be in attendance barring Vitality, Astralis and Natus Vincere (NAVI) in Kazakhstan.
Amongst the 12 invited teams there are the likes of Falcons, FURIA, G2, Spirit, PARIVISION and MOUZ amongst others. Apart from the 12 invited teams, the four other teams will be decided from European, North American, South American and Asian qualifiers. The tournament will kick off with a group stage format that will be a swiss BO3 format before moving to the Playoffs, which will be a single elimination stage with the final set to be a BO5 encounter. There will also be a 3rd place decider game that will be a BO3 match.
The PGL Astana 2026 event will clash with IEM Atlanta 2026 which is scheduled to take place between May 11 - May 17, 2026. Spirit will head to Kazakhstan as the defending champions, having beaten Astralis in the final last time around.
