Chinese teams fare well

The opening day at the LOOP Cup Season 1 Closed Qualifiers came to an end with the likes of Lynn Vision, Rare Atom, Chinggis Warriors and TYLOO amongst others all being in action as the 16 teams were battling it out to make it to the $3,000 LAN event in Shanghai.

The sixteen teams were divided into two equal groups in the closed qualifier. Double-elimination brackets determined the top two from each group who advance to the main event. The main event will run as a LAN in Shanghai, China, carrying a prize pool of $3,000 USD with the winners bagging $1,650 USD. A single-elimination playoffs with a best-of-five grand-final will determine the champion.

The opening day of the Closed Qualifier saw the 16 teams divided into two groups, Group A and Group B with the upper bracket quarter-finals, upper bracket semi-final and lower bracket round 1 games taking place.

Group A

Upper bracket quarter-finals:

Upper bracket quarter-finals:

  • Lyun Waan 0-2 Rare Atom

Upper bracket semi-finals:

  • Lynn Vision 2-0 Just Swing

  • Chinggis Warriors 1-2 Rare Atom

Lower bracket round 1

  • FengDa Gaming 2-0 DQZS

  • Team XDM 2-0 Lyun Waan

The remainder of the games will take place tomorrow, including the upper bracket final and the lower bracket rounds for both groups. The winner of the upper bracket final and the lower bracket final will qualify for the main event, which will see four teams head to Shanghai for the LAN event, scheduled to take place on March 21, 2026 and March 22, 2026. With the days running out to secure a VRS spot to make the Cologne Major 2026, each game will be key for the teams aiming to making through from Asia.
