IEM Krakow to return in 2027

ESL Pro Tour revamps announced for 2027

ESL to host a $11M+ circuit in 2027

In a welcome move, ESL is set to bring back eight-team playoffs for their events in 2027. ESL also announced that all of their events in 2027 will conclude with playoffs in front of an audience. IEM Krakow has also been confirmed to return in 2027 with a redistributed prize pool due to the eight-team playoffs bracket. The tournament will now feature wildcard invites too.

ESL Pro league has been reduced by seven days reducing the "calendar footprint" of the event. The tournament organizer has claimed for pledge over $11,450,000 USD towards Counter-Strike events in 2027 and considering the ESL Grand Slam's million dollar payout, ESL might have surpassed PGL's $10M and BLAST's $10M circuits.

As used in other traditional sports, we believe having the ability to extend a discretionary invite to teams who did not qualify through standard ranking methods, allows for some flexibility in the event that a team had undergone changes or newly formed ahead of the invitation date.
ESL on wildcard invites

ESL have committed to bringing Counter-Strike LANs to at least three new cities by the end of 2027. The Annual Club Incentive will be open to claim for all teams ranked within the top sixteen of the Global VRS. The programme also gets adjustments to include playoffs given the extra slots towards the latter end of events. Here's how ESL events are spread across 2027 at the moment:

  • IEM Katowice: 27/01/2026 - 07/02/2026

  • World EPL S25: 04/03/2026 - 14/03/2026
