The MongolZ's BLAST Open Rotterdam 2026 run as come to an end after a disappointing performance in the quarter-finals against Aurora. After impressing in the group stage, The MongolZ put up a flat show in the Playoffs which saw Aurora sweep them in two maps to send The MongolZ home from Rotterdam.
Aurora's pick of Ancient was the series opener as the force buy win on the T side saw the Turkish team take the early advantage before a couple of late rounds helped The MongolZ tie up the opening half. There was nothing from The MongolZ on their T side as a flawless CT half saw Aurora ease to a 13-6 win with XANTARES and woxic putting up a stellar defensive hold for the Turkish squad.
The T side woes continued as The MongolZ went 0-5 on their pick of Mirage before a B hit with bLitz opening up the site got The MongolZ on the board and a couple of late T rounds saw them find four on a lacklustre T side with the absence of maaRaa being clearly felt in the server. Both pistols and conversions meant Aurora were two rounds away from sealing the series before 910's AWP finally helped The MongolZ's CT side find some footing. Impact from mzinho and bLitz kept The MongolZ alive but it was bit too late as a quick A hit from Aurora wrapped things up on Mirage as they closed it at 13-9 to wrap up the series 2-0.
