FalleN confirms retirement at the end of 2026

One of Brazil's finest and the man who shaped the sport in the country and across the world, Gabriel 'FalleN' Toledo has announced that he will retire from professional Counter-Strike at the end of 2026. FalleN made the announcement on the first day of the Playoffs at IEM Rio 2026 at the Farmasi Arena stage in Rio de Janeiro in front of his loving fans.

Having started his career more than two decades ago, FalleN has been competing at the top level since 2005 across Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike: Source, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Counter-Strike 2. His biggest achievement till now came during his stint with Luminosity and SK in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in 2015-16. Across his career, FalleN has played for a host of teams in his country and internationally, namely, MIBR, Imperial, Luminosity/SK and also Liquid.

FalleN will see out his storied career with FURIA, whom he has been with since July 2023. He has been the captain of FURIA and picked up four LAN titles last year (2025), winning the BLAST Rivals 2025 Season 2, IEM Chengdu 2025, Thunderpick World Championship 2025 and the FISSURE Playground 2. Currently playing for FURIA at IEM Rio 2026, FalleN will play in front of his home crowd today against Vitality in the semi-final. Prior to his official announcement, FalleN had spoken about hanging up the mouse before but said FURIA's run in 2025 gave him some motivation to carry on.

During his retirement speech, an emotional FalleN thanked his family and specially his wife for their support amongst other things and also mentioned he will move onto 'other things in the Counter-Strike ecosystem'.
