Community-made VIP maps return to CS
Back when Counter-Strike: Global Offensive took the backseat after handing over the reins to Counter-Strike 2, many game modes went missing and still are to this day. Likewise, Global Offensive omitted some of Source's game modes and similarly each iteration of Counter-Strike has left something behind.
With Orel's new addition to Counter-Strike 2's Steam Workshop, we dive deep down into the nostalgia rabbit hole all the way back to Counter-Strike 1.6. Orel has "revamped" the "VIP" or "Protect the VIP" game mode from the early days of Counter-Strike and has released the game mode across select maps on the workshop. These maps can be hosted on unofficial dedicated servers or played offline with friends or bots.
As the name suggests, the game mode revolves around a "VIP" and the CTs need to escort this VIP to the exit point to help them escape. The T-side tries to block and prevent the VIP from escaping. The VIP spawns with extra health and armor but with just a USP and single round of bullets, limiting their combat ability.
The game mode is available to play on the following maps:
