Lynn Vision beaten by M80 in Cologne Major opener
One of the two Asian teams in Stage 1 of the IEM Cologne Major 2026, Lynn Vision, have begun their Major campaign in disappointing fashion after a loss to M80 in their opening match. The Chinese squad had the lead early on in the BO1 but once M80 found their footing, it was one-way traffic which has dropped Lynn Vision to the 0-1 bracket.
A Banana hit saw Lynn Vision start their Major campaign with the opening T pistol on Inferno and kept it clean against the force buy. After keeping it clean against the eco, slaxz-'s AWP and a double from Swisher through the smoke saw M80 get on the board. It was the s1n and slaxz- show following that as M80 got five in a row shutting down B attack after attack before a quick Banana hit helped Lynn Vision put up their fourth. That was all on the T side for the Chinese team as M80 closed out the half with three in a row to go 8-4 up at the half.
Multi-kills from jba and Lake saw M80 even out the pistols on Inferno but Starry's Deagle answered with a big double to see Lynn Vision pick up a massive force buy. Lynn Vision held on against the conversions to bring it to a two-round game. A straight up Banana hit followed by an A hit saw M80 get their T side going again and a triple from Lake put M80 on match point as Lynn Vision's A site defence crumbled. M80 closed Inferno at 13-8 with a 1v3 from JBa closing out the map in favour of the American team.
