THUNDER dOWUNDER stuns MIBR to start Major campaign with a win
aliStair's THUNDER dOWNUNDER squad have started their IEM Cologne Major 2026 campaign with a dominant win over Brazilian team MIBR. The Australian team picked up a stunning win in the opening BO1 against all the odds and now join their compatriots FlyQuest in the 1-0 bracket.
A triple from TjP helped THUNDER dOWNUNDER start Inferno with a conversion on their A hit and dexter's boys were up 4-0 in no time before brnz4n and LNZ's MP9s saw the Brazilians get on board. A big asap 1v1 against insani saw THUNDER dOWNUNDER lock in six on their T side. A couple of big rounds from asap saw THUNDER dOWNUNDER win the opening half as aliStair and co. held a four round lead at the half break.
MIBR kept it clean in the second pistol, converting a clean B hit but it was asap again with impact as THUNDER dOWNUNDER answered with a massive force thanks to an ace from asap with four of them coming on the Five-Seven and built off that to put up four in a row to hit match point. While MIBR found one round on their T side, a quick Banana shut down saw THUNDER dOWNUNDER go on to pick up a big 13-6 win.
