Grayhound Gaming leaves Counter-Strike after 8 years

One of the household names in Australian scene to leave the game

Following their 3rd place finish at the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024 Asia RMR, Grayhound Gaming fell short of qualifying for the upcoming CS2 major, Grayhound Gaming has now stepped away from the game. In a post on X, Grayhound Gaming reflected on their journey in Counter-Strike, which began in late June of 2017 and lasted for 8 years.

During this period, the Oceanic team made appearances at major events four times since 2019, including IEM Katowice 2019, Starladder Major Berlin 2019, IEM Rio 2022, and Paris Major 2023, consistently reaching the challenger stages.

The decision to step away from competitive play highlights the ongoing challenges within the esports industry, representing another casualty of the prevailing Esports winter. The organization will now be seeking offers for their players.
