Even without any major updates, the Counter-Strike market runs upwards

Counter-Strike surpasses $5 billion market cap

Pricempire records landmark yesterday

While the core of Counter-Strike is starved for updates and new content gameplay wise, the cosmetic side of things have been on a steady rise for the better part of 2024 and entirety of 2025 so far. Pricempire recorded that Counter-Strike market cap hugely driven by skins crossed the $5 billion mark yesterday.

A couple of months ago in March, Counter-Strike skins market cap recorded an all-time high of $4,277,574,722 USD (4.27 billion dollars or ~37,000 crores). The Counter-Strike skins market is known for boasting shockingly high prices on cosmetic items such as weapon finishes and stickers but when both of these join hands, we enter the six-figure territory.

Counter-Strike 2's player numbers have been on the rise with the game breaking it's peak concurrent players record recently. Viewership for Counter-Strike events in 2025 has also been spectacular with the game standing above League of Legends and Dota 2 in 2025, however we're just three months into the year.

Recently, a few new skin collections were added into the game along with a new weapons case and a limited edition shotgun in the armory pass roping players in to buy the pass again, which might have played a big role in the recent rally.
