IEM Cologne Major 2026 Stage 3 Day 2: Recap

Vitality stunned, Pick'ems ruined

The second day at IEM Cologne Major 2026 Stage 3 concluded last night as Spirit moved into the 2-0 bracket but the day's biggest surprise was 9z stunning Vitality which sees the defending champions drop into the 1-1 bracket and also suffer an unlikely loss. Before the third day's action kicks off day as we see two teams make Playoffs and two go home, let's take a quick look at the results from yesterday games.

The MongolZ finally get on the board; FURIA move closer to Playoffs

The day kicked off with the 0-1 bracket game as The MongolZ took on B8 with the Mongolian team picked up their first as they went 2-0 to drop the Ukrainian team to the elimination zone. FURIA meanwhile came out on top in a three map affair against MOUZ which saw the Brazilian team move into the 2-0 bracket.

FUT, PARIVISION in elimination territory

PARIVISION continued to struggle as Monte reverse swept them to drop Jame and co. closer to elimination while G2 and FUT was another three map series which saw G2 edge out FUT to drop FUT to the 0-2 bracket.

NAVI, BetBoom move closer to Playoffs

b1t and iM led the charge for Natus Vincere (NAVI) as they cleaned up Legacy 2-0 which now has NAVI one win away from making Playoffs. The other game in the 1-0 bracket saw Falcons go up against BetBoom. Falcons fumbled a massive lead on Nuke to see BetBoom steal the opening map before Boombl4's boys closed out the series on Ancient with a 13-10 win to drop Falcons to the 1-1 bracket.

Vitality stunned, Spirit continue to impress

The final games of the day saw Vitality aim to continue their flawless run but it was 9z who stunned them as they pulled off a 2-1 win while Spirit saw off an early scare from Aurora to keep their flawless run going. Vitality now sit in the 1-1 bracket while 9z and Spirit are one BO3 win away from making Playoffs.
