Asia to retain 5 Major slots at Singapore
Stage 2 of the IEM Cologne 2026 Major has come to a close and with the confirmed team list for Stage 3, we now have a clearer understanding of the slot distribution at the next Counter-Strike Major. Towards the end of Stage 2, matches didn't just hold qualification and elimination of two teams on the line, but in fact, additional slots for the winner's region at the next Major.
TYLOO's game against Legacy was one such example. If TYLOO were to take down the Brazilian squad in the 2-2 pool and book a Stage 3 slot, it could have netted Asia an extra slot at the next Major. However, Legacy took down TYLOO and denied an extra Asian slot but in the grand scheme of things, Americas did end up losing a slot, handing one over to Europe.
The slot distribution at PGL Singapore 2026 will likely go as follows:
-
Europe: 18 slots (+1)
-
Americas: 9 slots (-1)
-
Asia: 5 slots
By clearing Stage 3 and advancing to the playoffs of the IEM Cologne 2026 Major, a team confirms its respective regional slot for a direct Stage 3 invite at the next Major- PGL Singapore 2026.
