TYLOO has the chance to grab an extra Asian slot at the next Major
Stage 2 of the IEM Cologne 2026 Major has reached its concluding phase with just a couple of games to go. One of them, currently running, is featuring TYLOO and Legacy with a Stage 3 spot on the line. However, for TYLOO its not just a Stage 3 spot on the line but also an additional Asian slot at the next Counter-Strike Major.
VRS enthusiast @JesperLarsen222 took to X yesterday pointing out what's at stake for teams in the final two rounds of Stage 2 with respect to their regions at the next Major. Europe has now secured 18 slots at the next Major given Monte's win against paIN. Seventeen was already guaranteed for the region from the B8-BIG matchup.
On the Asian side of things, TYLOO needs to take down Legacy and book a Stage 3 slot to add another Asian invite for the next Major. If things go right for TYLOO today and they advance to the next stage, this is how the slot distribution might look at the next Major:
-
Europe: 18 (+1)
-
Americas: 9 (-1)
-
Asia: 6 (+1)
