IEM Cologne Major 2026 Stage 3: Preview
A massive reverse sweep led by the young s1zzi saw B8 book the final spot in Stage 3 of the IEM Cologne Major 2026 and that confirmed the team list for the the upcoming stage as the Major moves to its business end. With the Ukrainian team becoming the 16th and final team to lock in a Stage 3 spot, all the teams are confirmed for Stage 3 and the action moves to the business end of the IEM Cologne Major 2026.
Along with the eight qualified teams from Stage 2, the 8 directly qualified team for Stage 3 will get things underway at Cologne. From the 16 in Stage 3, the top 8 will move to the LANXESS Arena for the Playoffs. The IEM Cologne Major 2026 Stage 3 will also not feature any BO1s as we will have only BO3s moving forward.
The defending Major champions Vitality, Natus Vincere (NAVI), Falcons, FURIA, Aurora, MOUZ, The MongolZ and PARIVISION made it to Stage 3 through their VRS standing and they will be joined by eight teams who made it through Stage 2. Spirit and FUT made it through with a flawless 3-0 while G2, BetBoom and 9z qualified with a 3-1 record. On the final day's action in Stage 2, Legacy, Monte and B8 were the final members who made it to Stage 3.
With TYLOO being eliminated on the final day of Stage 2, there will be only one Asia-Pacific team in Stage 3 as The MongolZ will represent the region once again. Vitality meanwhile come into the Major looking to emulate Astralis' hattrick of Major wins after having won both Majors in 2025.
The opening games of Stage 3 will see The MongolZ face BetBoom while PARIVISION takes on 9z. Vitality will kick off their Major defence against FUT while MOUZ takes on one of the two Brazilians teams in Legacy. karrigan's Falcons will see NiKo and m0NESY go up against their former team G2 in their opening game while NAVI takes on Spirit with Aurora going up against the surprise package in Monte.
