ODDIK take down G2; enter 1-1 pool at PGL Astana

ODDIK accused of bug exploit at PGL Astana 2025

The buzz remains contained on social media

At PGL Astana 2025, ODDIK took on G2 in the 0-1 pool after both teams conceded their opening round matches and the one particular round in the second map of the series, Dust2 had a noticeable part of the community talking.

G2 started Dust2 with pistol and anti-eco wins. With a broken economy in round 3, ODDIK had to manufacture something out of the ordinary to steal a round off of G2 but failed to do so. However, the beginning of the round caught people's eyes. CS2 NEWS on X, reports that ODDIK were accused of bug exploit for the same.

matios and naitte dropped over a couple of scouts using which pancc and WOOD7 took a quick shot down mid and upon failing to hit their targets, returned the budget snipers back to their teammates who quickly refunded them. The writeup on X alleges that while this bug existed in the early days of CS2, it was patched but one iteration of the same still exists where weapons dropped while holding the direct-drop key upon purchase could still be sold.

The community stands divided on the take, going as far as calling out "hypocrisy". One user on X wrote "...if m0NESY did it, it would be genius but since it's Brazilian player it's a bug" referring to m0NESY's CS:GO days where he would come up with absurdly cheeky plays. WOOD7 confirmed that they had received the greenlight from PGL towards the strat and another user even posted a screenshot of ODDIK's interaction with PGL admins.

WOOD7 also cited that Imperial had used the same strat against them in the Major qualifier. However, G2 ended up winning Dust2 comfortably with a 13-3 scoreline and that particular round had no impact on the outcome of the map or the series. ODDIK won the decider and sent G2 down to the 0-2 pool as they currently await their opponent in the 1-1 pool.
