PGL Astana records peak Mongolian viewership

The group stage of PGL Astana 2025 reaches it's concluding phase with the 2-1 and 1-2 pools running their games right now. For some, the tournament ended early with consecutive losses but The MongolZ on the other hand seem to be having a great tournament so far, having cleared the group stage with a flawless 3-0 record.

Taking down FURIA and MIBR, The MongolZ set up their qualification match against NAVI and the Mongolian Counter-Strike fans turned up in massive numbers to support their team. Over 73,794 peak viewers were recorded watching streams of the event in Mongolian language.

The number holds great significance because it reportedly amounts to approximately 2% of the Mongolian population. The MongolZ's popularity and cultural impact is on a steady rise as the team even appeared twice in the IEM Melbourne 2025 peak viewership leaderboard; their matches with Liquid and Vitality were the second and third most popular matches in the tournament.

The MongolZ have currently confirmed a playoffs berth at PGL Astana 2025 alongside Spirit who also cleared the group stage with a 3-0. After their initial round loss to The MongolZ, FURIA also picked up the pace and made it through the group stage with a 3-1 run.
