CS2 skins market cap plummets by over half a billion dollars
The rapidly rising Counter-Strike cosmetics market hit a speedbump, toppling down by over half a million dollars. At one point Pricempire recorded that the draining CS2 skins market had lost nearly a billion dollars.
Recently the Counter-Strike skins market cap broke the five billion dollar mark, setting a new record. The market has been running downhill ever since and Pricempre reportedly recorded a market cap value of $4,030,101,519 USD sometime yesterday, meaning which nearly a billion dollars had disappeared from the CS2 market.
In a follow up post on X, Pricempire clarified that the metric was a misfire due to a major pricing bug buff.163 had on dopplers. The items were priced absurdly low due to a logic flaw in Buff's price calculation algorithm. The issue was fixed quickly but even with that out of the way, the CS2 skins market cap now stands at $4,514,609,159 USD; well below the five billion dollar mark that it breached last week.
