PGL Belgrade moved to PGL Studios
PGL Belgrade 2025, which was set to take place in Serbia has now been moved to the PGL Studios in Bucharest, Romania. The tournament organizer has cited that the move had to take place due to "unforeseen logistical challenges". The event was set to take place five months from now.
This doesn't come as PGL's sole setback in the recent past as the tournament organizer announced that their PGL Krakow 2027 plans were binned after a cancellation by the venue. A few days after PGL's announcement it was revealed that ESL had swooped in to swipe the venue following their IEM Katowice shift to IEM Krakow.
PGL's CEO Silviu Stroie also took a dig at "multiple parties" trying to sabotage PGL events in his post on X about PGL Bucharest 2025. "Counter-Strike is a global phenomenon and any single company that will try to monopolize it will simply fail", said PGL's CEO in his post on X.
The dates however remain the same but the tournament gets renamed to PGL Masters Bucharest 2025. Taking place from 24th October to 2nd November 2025, the event carries a $1,250,000 USD prize pool with an S-tier status. The top 16 teams from Global VRS secure direct invites to the tournament.
The event kicks off with sixteen teams in a Swiss System bo3 to filter half of the participants into the single-elimination bo3 playoffs. A bo5 grand-final concludes the event and crowns the champion.
