s1mple returns to the Top 16 of a Counter-Strike Major
The final team of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 Stage 3 has been confirmed and it is none other than s1mple's FaZe as they took down MIBR in the final Stage 2 game in the 2-2 bracket. The win for FaZe sees them make Stage 3 and it is a return to the top 16 of a Counter-Strike Major for s1mple.
MIBR's pick of Anubis started with a back and forth affair before s1mple and frozen turned around a 2v5 with the Ukrainian legend showing some vintage AWP highlights which helped FaZe take an 8-4 lead on their T side. A flawless defensive hold kicking off with a A site retake on the pistol meant that FaZe locked in a comfortable 13-4 win to start the series.
A back and forth including early impact from EliGE saw FaZe take a 7-5 lead on their pick of Ancient before MIBR winning out a crucial T side pistol saw them go on a six round streak to take the lead of the map at 11-7 before s1mple's AWP finally got FaZe's CT side going. A Tec-9 A hit saw MIBR over run FaZe's defence on the A site which saw the Brazilians hit map point. A crucial karrigan lurk saw FaZe answer back immediately as they held on to push it to overtime with EliGE coming with a last second 1v1 defuse against Lucaozy.
And unlike Falcons, FaZe weren't giving MIBR any overtime freebies as FaZe kept it clean to take a 16-12 win to book the series 2-0 and make their way to Stage 3.
